How are specimens graded?

If specimens have no grading marked, they are A1 quality, which means you can expect them to be perfect specimens, with exception of some leg damage.

A1-: These specimens have very minor damage, normally restricted to antenna damage.

A-: These specimens have minor damage, such as antenna damage, or minor flight wear such as small scratches, minor sale damage, some minor fraying around the edges of the wings.

A2-: More significant damage, such as major flight wear, small rips, small pieces missing from the wings, damage to the thorax or abdomen, or staining. Second Grade: These specimens have similar damage to A2 specimens, but to a more dignificant degree.

How are specimens posted?

All specimens are shipped unset in individual paper envelopes. They are well packaged in strong shipping boxes with plenty of soft foam cushioning to protect them during transit.

Is it safe to shop using my credit card?

All transactions with Insect Designs are handled by eWay, a secure and highly respected payment gateway. Your credit card details are not stored on our own system. Whilst customers are able to use a different shipping address to the billing address, we will need to confirm that the purchase was valid if different addresses are used.

What if I don't have a credit card?

You are still able to shop even if you don't have a credit card. Simply contact Insect Designs using the 'contact me' button on the left hand side and we will tell you how you can pay using telegraphic transfer, money order or Western Union. You can now also pay using Paypal directly from your shopping cart.

How much will I pay for shipping?

Shipping is calculated autmatically for your region using your preferred shipping method in our shopping cart. This can be viewed prior to checking out. Orders over $180 automatically receive free standard shipping.

How long do orders take to reach me?

Orders are usually shipped within 24 hours using standard airmail. As a guide, mail from Australia to the U.S.A. usually takes between one and two weeks, all things going well. However, mail may take longer at busy times of the year such as Christmas, or delays n customs and quarantine. You will be emailed when your order has been shipped.

What if my order goes missing or is damaged during transit?

If your package does not arrive after two months, it will be deemed lost and Insect Designs will reship your order at no cost to you. If your order is damaged during transit, the item/s will be replaced or you will receive a full refund for the damaged items (excludes antenna damage due to postal shock).

What if I don't like what I ordered?

If you do not like what you ordered you will receive a full refund (excluding all postage costs) upon the return of the goods to Insect Designs in the same condition as they were received.

Can I cancel my order if I change my mind?

Provided that the order has not been shipped, you may cancel your order. Simply contact Insect Designs  and your order will be cancelled.

What about my privacy?

Insect Designs values your privacy. No details of any customers will be passed on to anybody else at any stage. Insect Designs does not keep any of your credit card details on file. You will be given the option of signing up to Insect Designs' newsletter when you complete your first purcahse. You are able to discontinue your subscription at any time.
