Terms and Conditions

How are specimens posted and how much will it cost?

Unless otherwise stated in the store,  specimens are shipped unset in individual paper envelopes. They are well packaged in strong shipping boxes with plenty of soft foam cushioning to protect them during transit. We ship across the globe via Australia Post. A variety of postage options are available. To view shipping costs to your area, add the desired items to your shopping cart and click 'view cart'. If the prices shown in the shopping cart show the dafult ,'Brisbane, Australia', you can click 'change' under 'destination' and enter your own country/region. Alternatively you can register for an account and add your address and the shopping cart will automatically display shipping rates to the address stored within your account. Shipping rates are also displayed at the checkout before you process your final order.

How long do orders take to reach me?

Orders are usually shipped within 2 working days using services provided by Australia Post. As a guide, economy airmail from Australia to the U.S.A. usually takes about two weeks, all things going well. However, mail may take longer at busy times of the year such as Christmas, delays due to customs and quarantine inspections, or delays caused by the postal service at the delivery destination. Other shipping options may arrive more quickly. Economy shipping does not offer tracking. You will be emailed when your order has been shipped. 

What if my order goes missing or is damaged during transit?

If your package does not arrive after two months it will be deemed lost and Insect Designs will either reship your order at no cost to you or issue a refund after consulting with you. However, Insect Designs reserves the right to make the final choice. If your order is damaged during transit, the item/s will be replaced or you will receive a full refund for the damaged items (excludes antenna damage, or leg damage in the case of beetle specimens, due to postal shock). Evidence of damage must be given to Insect Designs prior to a replacement or refund being given. Such evidence could be a photograph or the return of the damaged specimens (Insect Designs will not be liable for postage costs associated with the return of the specimens). After consultation with you, Insect Designs reserves the right to select whether to issue a refund for a damaged item or send a replacement item.

What if my order can not be delivered because of an issue with Customs or Quarantine?

Insect Designs will not be held liable if your order can not be delivered because of an issue with Customs or Quarantine. Insect Designs will also not be liable for any extra expenses that you may be liable for when importing your order into your country. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are able to import our products into your country before you place an order.

What if I don't like what I ordered?

If you do not like what you ordered you will receive a full refund (excluding all postage costs) upon the return of the goods to Insect Designs in the same condition as they were received.

Can I cancel my order if I change my mind?

Provided that the order has not been shipped, you may cancel your order. Simply contact Insect Designs using the 'contact us' button and your order will be cancelled.
